Bottled. A deep red beer with a thick tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, bread, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet and very malty with strong notes of caramel and alcohol as well as medium notes of bread, leading to a dry alcoholic and bitter finish. The alcohol tickles.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of MoritzF. Clear orangey brown with a tall, dense, beige head that leaves some lacing. Distinct aroma of pumpernickel and roasted malt. Quite full-bodied with a solid malt base, roasted malt, pumpernickel and burned caramel. A little low in carbonation with some bitterness in the finish. Lovely. 291108

Bottle, thanks Pivnizub. Milk chocolate and light green wood aroma. Ruby brown, creamy brown head. Very chocolaty entry, a hint burned spongecake, berries in booze follow later, good aromatic hop profile to balance, chocolate stays with us al the way. Creamy texture, fullbodied. Good dessertbeer!

Bottle: Clear, ruby-amber coloured, smaller, but stable persistent fluffy beige head; toasted malt, leather , a tinge of molasses and dried berries in the aroma; solid sweet and bitter, too, flavour, medium to full bodied; toasty and sweet-malty to fruity finish with a distinctive bitterness in the very end. Brave, easy-drinking Doppelbock..........

(bottle) Clear, mahogany colour with a big and beige foamy head. Sweet, slightly molassy toast-malty aroma with caramel and a light hoppy shine in the background. Moderately sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with an almost crispy carbonation. Solid roasty malty base with caramel and light notes of liquorice And herbal hops; medium-dry, sweet and slightly bitter toasty malty finish with herbal and grassy hoppy notes. Quaffable, quite hoppy example of the style (08.05.08).
