In honor of the traditional Oktoberfest, this Festbier style is brewed with German Vienna and Munich malts and German Hersbrucker hops. The brew has a golden appearance with clean malt flavor and restrained bitterness. Próst!

Can - moderate Vienna and Munich character that tastes and feels a bit drained of life and character, like an Ofest that has been watered-down - scant hop character and a lightly metallic tinge - eh.

Pours hazy gold into a shaker. White head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Sweet malt aromas. Sweet corn husk and dirty socks upfront. Dry, metallic finish. Was hoping for more...

Canned 7/5/24, drunk 8/28/24. Pale, peachy-copper. Medium-sized, off-white head steadily recedes to ring. The usual moderately-worty, lightly metallic nose of Athletic is joined by scant toast and biscuit from the medium malts. Very little hop character. A bit of squash character alongside brown butter and lots of grainy carbonic character. Some residual sweetness from malt as well as light wort. Basically zero hop character and very minimal bitterness.

Golden color instead of the traditional red which I prefer. Aromas are unfermented wort. Flavors are similar to nose, bittersweet and add in some carbonic tang. A hint of roast in there. Could probably cook with it.

Grass and bread nose. Clear amber, thin head. Paper, muted bread and grass. Mild grape nut finish. Light body, easy carbonation. Not a whole lot going on. Kudos for the attempt at a maerzen, but it honestly doesn't taste much differently than their other offerings.

Pours dark golden with a thin white head. Aroma of thin malt. Taste has resin, thin malt. Palate has lingering resin, oily elements. Not bad.
