In anticipation of the Bi-centenary of the Stockton & Darlington Railway, the enterprise that got the world on track. We have brewed our S&D Victorian Old Ale, brewed to mimic a type of beer enjoyed by Victorian drinkers. The beer is a robust brown ale that is fermented and aged in oak casks using Maris Otter and East Kent Goldings (Both favourites of Victorian Brewers). We have even tried to match a similar water profile to that used by Victorians, filtered through limestone the water would be rich in calcium leading to a silky soft mouthfeel. Finally, each beer is conditioned in bottle to ensure an authentic taste of history.

Sample thanks to danlo. Cheers mate! Pours an unclear deep amber, off-white loose bubbles atop. Decent old ale overall, good caramel hit carrying it through, smooth amber malt. Lovely.

Panda at home many thanks to Ed Danlo. A light hazed amber brown coloured pour with a loose off white head that sticks to the edge. Aroma is toasted malts, sticky pine, chewy, nettles, ome brown sugars. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty toasted malts, chewy pine, firm grassy piney hop, drying. Palate is semi sweet, light grain tannin, highish carbonation. Decent.

500ml bottle home delivered by the brewer. Batch 001. Slow gusher on opening. Hazed golden-brown colour, big foamy white head leaving lacing and aroma of malt, toffee, caramel, floral hop. Taste is sweet, malty, tangy, caramel, with woody oak notes, and some fruity hop bitterness. Medium bodied, foamy soft carbonation, drying tangy bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.
