Bottle shared at the ChrisO Flags of Many Nations Easter Tasting 2013 - London. Pours cloudy gold with a fine, white cream head. Some dry caramel in the nose, fading lightly toasted malts. Sugary bread flavor with faint fruity tang, lightly toasted sugars. Bread. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly sticky sweet to finish with faint toffee, hay. Simple but quite drinkable given its strength.

21/04 A 0.33 l bottle from Ammersin liquor store, Vienna. It poured hazy orange body with medium sized head. Caramel malty, then earthy, yeasty and a bit lemony to alcoholic aroma. Flavor was dominated by nice orange note, showed some brown sugar that added to elegance, boozy spices and also touch of nuts. MEdium to full in body with longer, warming caramel and other malts in finish. Quite nice and really drinkable despite being heavy and cloying.

Heller Antrunk mit belgischem Touch. Hefig, wenig Alkohol. Dann trocken, für einen Doppelbock ungewöhnlich. Mild bleibend. 9/8/8/7/8/8

Tasting at ChrisO’s. Hazy amber - brown beer, tidy off white head. Light and softish palate. Sweetish airy malt, a little paper. Very sweet malt! Touch of generic fruits. Light softish finish. A bit odd.

Bottled(330ml) shared with Doggythedog at the Dombräu, Graz.
As Forstner Biere Vollmond Doppelbock.
Pale amber coloured, hyper-quick disappearing beige head. Aroma was malty and fruity with mild yeasty notes. Contains three types of american hops, but hop presence is almost symbolic.

My beer no.3 of the Croatian RB beerhunt in GrazBottled, as Forstner Biere Vollmond Doppelbock, 7.5%, at the Dombräu. Poured a misty amber colour on top of which was a small beige head that went away almost instantly. Fizzy. The nose is yeasty and alcoholic. Fruity too. The taste was damn pleasant, malt, fruitiness, alcohol all around but it actually complemented the taste instead of ruining like in some other Austrian bocks I’ve had. Almost no hops. Kinda light for its strength, and dangerously drinkable. The biggest and the most pleasant surprise of the beerhunt for me (it wasn’t the best beer though). A superb pale bock... that just happens to call itself Doppelbock.
