Beginning with a unique blend of apple varietals, this Imperial hard cider offers balanced sweetness and contains no artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners. The result of using real fruit is a pure, uncompromised taste that pays homage to our roots.
The first Imperial ever to be made by Blake’s, American Apple is a high alcohol semi-sweet apple cider made with 100% fresh pressed American apples by American farmers.
The term Imperial comes from the word double in the beer industry, implying double the alcohol. Imperial hard ciders have just begun emerging on the west coast as customers are looking for more bold choices.
Although American Apple is currently Blake’s highest alcohol offering in our portfolio, the fresh-pressed apples complement the slight booziness, making this an easy sipper with a clean and balanced finished.

In a glass, from a cheap can, this stuff pours clear light pale. Yea. I get it - merikan hard cider, you know with a kick! Pop the lid and the nose is a crispy clean american apple smell, nothing artificial on the olfactory. First swig is apple fer sure, but it is a little boozy, you'd expect that for 8%, but its not as boozy as an 8-percenter should be. So, be careful, you may have a few of these not realizing the brain numbing effect it has on affecting the motor skills. Hehehh. Yea, goes down easy, goes down way too easy. It doesn't even have a warming sensation, how interesting. I do note however, that in the middle, I think I'm starting to feel what its doing to me brain. I think I'm starting to feel better about life in general. Nothing very rude about the taste. You now, I've brewed hard cider myself for a few years but I could never get to taste this good, it always had a little rude ass attitude to it that is lacking here. Yea, its sweet and friendly, for the most part it's friendly, but it does carry a sort of alky based kick. I just wonder how they got the alky content up so high? It says they didn't add anything but apple but I'm not so sure. In the end its a pretty good brew for the alky content it contains, and the price you pay; much more civilized than the soda pop malt beverages out there with the same alky content.

$2 can from Trader Joe's while shopping for non-essentials. No one goes to TJs for real groceries, that's silly. Pint glass @home. Pale, clear, straw gold, lingering film. Smells strongly medicinal, bittersweet, weirdly herbal. Good & bad. Semi-sweet apples upfront, sorta tart. Kinda garbage-y, slightly past/spoiled apple bitterness, rubber, plus some unusual menthol sting. It's vaguely industrial. Finish is champagne yeasties & a nod to pear. Frothy, too noticeably boozy, slight soda finish. Not the worst $2 adult beverage I've had, but it parked on the same block.

12 ounce can from Niemuth's, 2/17/23. Clear pale gold, thin fizzy tan head, poor retention. Aroma of dry apples, bit of sweettart apple. Taste is sweet apple, a weird meaty and savory note. High carb.

Yellow with a medium sized white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. Tart and dryish with green apple. Medium finish and body.

Pours clear pale gold with no head. The aroma is pretty mild with apples and a little booze. The full flavor is of sweet green apples. Booze is mostly buried. I’d not have guessed it’s 8%. It’s similar to Ace High but sweeter, I think. I’d tone that down a little more, but this is still quite good.
