Rye Barrel Edition is a younger brother of The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie. While initial version mixed Bière de Garde with wine-like notes, this time it's time to let rye barrel shine.

Experience: Beige foam covers the bright golden beer. Head will disappear quickly into a thin layer that keeps lacing the glass.

In the aroma vanilla from the rye barrel gives the central theme. There is the scent of red berries and, of course, rye whiskey itself.

First sip. Light beer lets the rye barrel shine. Sweet vanilla from rye barrels turns quickly into the mix of slight bitterness from oak tannins and sourness from wheat.

Aftertaste has a nice warming effect like a sip of good rye. Oak barrel is working together with light-colored but strong beer, to keep this warming sensation lingering forever.

From a flight at Uba ja Humal, Tallinn. Close to clear dark golden to amber, not much head to speak of. Malty and woody with notes of whiskey and rye, some caramel and dried fruits too. Strong and flavourful, but quite balanced and enjoyable. --- Beer merged from original tick of Kodanluse Diskreetne Võlu Rye Barrel Edition on 29 Jun 2020 at 15:39 - Score: 7

Bottle, Color: Amber to copper, thin off-white head. Aroma: Sweetish, malty, boozy. Taste: Pretty thin body, grain, clearly present Rye Whiskey, boozy notes, yeasty and lightly caramel and herbal (rye, but maybe also some other herbs) notes. Moderate to medium sweet, light to moderate bitter and very light sour. Pretty unusual. Isuppose that Biere de Garde and Rye barrel conditioning in this way is not a good combination. I dont know how long it's barrel aged but I can't taste much flavours of the Biere de Garde. It's not that bad but definitely not one of the best Lehe beers in my opinion.

Bottle (from koht ty ?). Street tick, but tasted amber. Aroma is yeasty, whiskey, fruits, malt. Flavor is sour, sweet, fruits, yeasty, malty. Overall: okish. Would expect less sourness and more whiskey from rye whiskey barrel.
