There are so many myths and tales surrounding Christmas that we feel it would be a good deed to clear up a thing or two. For instance, many people mistakenly claim that the Christmas tree was invented by a plastic company somewhere in South East Asia around 1950. But that's all bollocks. It happened in the 17th century already and the plastic factory wasn't in South East Asia, but in Riga, in the Baltics. Also, we hear tales of big, red and very delicate glass balls being used to decorate the tree, when in fact those are huge, Italian Amarena cherries spiked with vodka and LSD - made to help calm moms and dads with many small kids and get them through the Christmas days...

--Bottled. -- Near black, small head. Rich aroma of chocolate, caramel and faint cherries. Mid sweet with full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Chocolate, cherries, tobacco and licorice. Mid bitter finish. Harmonious with well integrated flavours.

Bottle. Black colour, mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is cherries, some syrup and mild alcohol tones with some spices and roast too. Flavour is syrup, some spices, roast and mild herbal tones. Roasted aftertaste.

7/10/2023. Bottle shared at Ulfborg. Pours close to black with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, dark cherry. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, quite smooth, average carbonation.

ABV: 8.5%. Clear dark dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate - roasted, dark malt, spicy, cherry, dark fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, dark malt, roasted, chocolate - roasted, spicy, dark fruit, cherry. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Bottle @Ulfborg. Nearly black, light beige head. Dark choc and cherries in the aroma, some wood perhaps. Sweet flavour, some roasted malt, sweet and tart cherries.

Frothy off-white fair mostly diminishing head. Dark red amber colour. Heavy malty and moedrate hoppy aroma. Week cherry notes. MOderate bitter woody flavor. Average moderate bitter fnish. Creamy palate.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is close to black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, cherries, coffee and hops. Nice roasty finish.

Draught @ SKAAL Sønderborg. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy tan head. Clear aroma of coffee, yeast and chocolate, with notes of malt and touches of cherries. Bitter, roasty flavour with sour-sweet notes of cherries and touches of malt and yeast. Bitter, somewhat boozy aftertaste with touches of yeast and cherries. Warming alcohol presence. Reasonable but rather boozy, despite the relatively low ABV for the style. The carbonation could be higher, too.
