Sample at the Plzeň market, courtesy of the lovely guy behind the stall who insisted I try something before purchasing. Classic pale yellow body. Interesting aroma, not its best aspect - bit of fermenting grapes, honey, slightly funky. Not bad though. The taste is however the Včelovina one loves and respects - sweet, elegant honey presence, rubbing against clean, pleasant wood (you pervert!), Slovak oak apparently, light tartness to balance it out. Yeah, this works - but my heart was set on the Ru. barrel so I got that one. This time!

Bottle pour at Medivarna. Pours clear blonde. Fairly light nose. Flavour has plenty of honey, some oak and vanilla, noticeable burn on the finish. Very good.

Bottle sample at the Mead Museum, pours a clear blonde. Aroma brings out subtle oak tannins, floral honey and alcohol. Flavour is medium-to-heavy sweet (for a mead) with light oak, floral-ish honey and gentle beeswax. Nicely made, with all sorts of flavour depth. Very good.

Pours a clear gold. Scent is smooth, tuned-down, fairly closed vanilla pudding, honey. Taste is super-smooth, intense vanilla, rice pudding, sweet, medium alcohol (doesn't give away it's 13.5) bringing a great balance. Super smooth (can't state this enough), Bourbon-like qualities from the vanilla (which is added, rather than a Barrel-aged origin) . So nice!

ABV: 13.0%. Clear medium yellow colour with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate honey, maybe some notes of barrel - oak - vanilla ! but manly just honey - honeycomb. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, honey, sweet honey - dried fruit, oak, barrel - vanilla, medium dry, light minty honey. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20190914]
