Tap at Takumiya η₯ι½ Shinto Beer - rice mix pale ale No ABV listed though all the others on the menu have it. Clear copper and served with a crazy thick head after the no head pours at Takanoya. Stone fruit aroma. Silky med-full body and a fruity flavor but it lacks depth. Nice enough though. I actually think I had this in cans ages ago in Wakyama, on tap is better.

35cl can from some shop in Yokohama. Pours deep golden with the modest white head. Mild hoppy aroma with fruity notes and hints of citrus and pale malt. Moderate to medium sweet with mild flavours and a light, but fairly pleasant bitterness. Nothing to special, but easy to drink and fairly enjoyable.

Can from Natural Lawson. Drank from the can. Very perfume-like aromatic hops with some herbal elements and light orange. Average carbonation with some crackery malts and bit of caramel. Pours clear golden amber. Bit of head. Aroma is quite simple. Bit of fruity hops, feels sweetish. Taste is also fruit side of a pale ale, really juicy actually. Light and easygoing fulfilling pale ale. I wonder where the fruits are coming from or is this really from rice. Nice.

Clear, light copper. Aroma is quite full of grass and earthy hops with just a little citrus. Medium bodied. Flavor is citrus, pine, and a little grass. Nothing special but itβs got a nice smooth, light bitterness and is refreshing. Ends with a decent bitterness.

Said to be an American-style Pale Ale, and it includes rice, though that might be a nod to the gods at Ise more than a way to make it cheaper. Non-pasteurized. Light copper color, clear, with a short white head. Tart, citrus hop aroma. Not as strong a hop aroma as some American PAs, but good. Medium rich malt flavor, with caramel. Good hops throughout. Citrus tanginess and fruity. Relatively light in body, smooth and easy to drink but with good character. Dry, bitter hop finish that lasts quite a while. This is a decent light aleβnot near as interesting and rich as a Yona-Yona, but light and easy to drink, and flavorful. Something like a bitter, but with more alcohol and American hops. Not mind-bending, but good for a lighter, canned beer.
