12.5cl @ Brewdob Brussels.
Brune foncée/noire, col blanc-cassé tenace.
Arôme sur un bouquet assez classique anglais - belle dose de malté caramel, grillé, torréfié et chocolat noir, petit enote levure en rétro-nasal avec touche de houblons nobles terreux, floral en appui. Je ne note rien en terme de l'apport des chilis.
Palais est classique et solide pour un bon stout anglais - marqué par une grosse dose de malté grillé, chocolat, pointe de café - finement terreux et floral en retrait - petite note métallique malté en fin de bouche - floral oscillant sur le mielleux en retrait - espresse.
Un peu déçu car j'attendais nettement plus de la présence de piment - ces derniers restent assez effacés et peu présents.

0.33 l can from BrewDog Berlin Mitte, shared with Schieder and Fates11 at the train. Drank from the can. Aroma is roasty and chocolate. Flavour is good balance of roasty, dark caramel, chocolate and chilli peppers. Smooth, soft, light, drinkable. Light finish.

Can. Black with a proper beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, brown sugar and cocoa. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, cocoa, minerals and chili powder. The chili heat kicks in late, lasts for quite some time and manages to make it’s presence known while not overpowering everything else. Low to moderate bitterness. Medium carbonation. Thin mouthfeel. It’s ok really and I guess it achieves everything they went for. But as much as I love chilis (and beer presumably) I have yet to encounter a chili-flavoured beer that makes me go „Whoa“.

0.33 l can from 'Craft Bier Bude', canned in November 2023. Clear, very dark reddish brown to black with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, quite roasty aroma of cocoa, coffee and hazelnut. Quite sweet, malty, gently roasty taste of cocoa, coffee and hazelnut, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, quite peppery finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty stout, quite peppery but fortunately not overly so. Great barbecue beer by the way.

From tap. Pours pitch black, small tan head. Aroma is roasted dark malty, chocolate and breadish. Light fruity, hoppy. Bitter, dark roasted. Light hoppy and fruity far finish.
