Paradox is never rushed. The thing is, sometimes the flavours pull rank. The powerfully charred first-fill Uncle Duke's whisk(e)y casks gave so much that we - like Duke - pulled the trigger.

Our latest Paradox is the closing of a circle that began four years ago. Uncle Duke's, our trans-Atlantic mash-up of Scotch and Bourbon is a supersonic blast through the cask-ageing process.

And what a ride.

The barrels that give Duke everything have so much left for Paradox. Vanilla, notes of honey and candied fruit, sticky toffee. Good ol' frontier molasses. Campfire coffee. Paradox Uncle Duke's is as dark as a prairie night and ready to be discovered.

330ml bottle. Almost black with a beige head. Heavy whisk(e)y barrel aroma, definitely bourbon, oaky, caramel, chocolate. Taste is again heavy of the barrel character, warming and boozy bourbon, oak, chocolate, caramel, dark malts and fruits, vanilla. Medium bodied, very smooth, fine carbonation. Best Paradox I've had so far.

Svart med lys brunt skum. Lukter røkt torv, mørk sjokolade, kaffe og mørke stenfrukter. Fyldig. Smaker salt lakris, kaffe, vanilje og trevirke. Lang salt avslutning.

28/08/2019 - draught tasting glass @Brewdog Brussels. Dark brown with medium tanned head. Nose is roast, coffee, bit vanilla, whisky. Taste starts nice with roast, some alcohol burn, dark chocolate, bit vanilla, after that it feels a bit dissapointing. OK but like lots of other Brewdogs...
