500 ml bottle from Melbourne Beach Market. Pours a crystal clear mahogany color with a tight beige head and great retention. Decent lacing. Faint dark malt aroma. Dark malt flavor with some minor dark fruit notes in the finish. Very mild and subtle overall. Medium-light body. Soft carbonation. Low bitterness. It looks better than it tastes. Not bad, but a bit underwhelming.

Can. Dark brown color, creamy foam. Aroma: caramel malt, a little burnt, apple, toasted bread and sweetness. Taste: caramel malt, fried toast, a bit of coffee, light sourness, without surprises, but drinkable.

Bottle, 0.5l. Deep ruby pour, one finger beige head. Low retention, not much of lacing. Malty nose, some caramel, cocoa powder, slightly roasted. Thin to medium body. Medium carbonation, a bit on the soft side. Light mouthfeel, smooth palate. Easy drinking. Roasty bittersweet taste. Aroma is malty, a bit on the watery side but decent. Caramel. Roasted malts. Chocolate. Cocoa. Slight acidity towards the finish. Peppery. Drying mouthfeel. Medium lasting dry finish with somewhat grainy aftertaste. Overall, for the price it's quite ok. Straightforward effort, true, but quite drinkable. Not bad.
