Happy Birthday Outro Lado! For the 3rd year in a row we brewed a beer in collaboration with our friends this time to celebrate their 5th anniversary. Indulgence is an Imperial Porter aged for 16 months in Wild Turkey bourbon barrels. After this aging period we blended it with fresh Porter to achieve a balanced and smooth profile and then we conditioned it in voluptuous amounts of hazelnut, raw coconut from Sri Lanka and vanilla beans from Madagascar! The result is quite to our taste and we believe it does justice to one of the best specialty bars in the country!

Pours black, foam fades faster than the head on a coca cola. Scent is roasty, full, soy, heavy on the bourbon - but not in a great way. Very agressive, burnt maltyness. Taste is heavy, roasty (burnt, but less extreme than feared). Vanilla up front, mild on the hazelnut and coconut - which aren't lost. Body is thick, but not thick enough, and carbonation is very high. All and all, it's a good beer, but needs a few tweaks to be concidered great.
