Draught@TCBW2018. Hazy golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is spices, herbs, yeast and some sweet malts. Flavour is crisp maltiness along with some herbs, spices, yeast and mild citrus notes. A bit funky, but still very refreshing.

Bottle, at Haandfest. It's an unclear yellowish orange colored beer with a finger-thick off-white head. The aroma has wood, pepper hints, vague notes of berries and lemon, with a generic fruityness and a pleasant funky touch. It's smooth, full to medium bodied and quite dry on the palate, with a soft bitterness. Fruity, lightly funky flavor with some pale malts in the far back. Pepper notes, woody hints that I guess comes from the juniper, some generic berry notes and a lemony touch in the flavor. Lasting fruity finish. A super-mellow, tasteful and refreshing beer. 190503

Draught at Oxbow Portland, 12/30/17.
Lightly-to-minimally hazy, blonde-brass with slight auburn hints. Off-white head atop shows moderately-low retention.
Tart, acidic juniper and strong wood/oak character mix with light cereal/biscuit and heavy lactic acid to produce a bit of an American sour-meets-sahti kind of nose. Great expression from the yeast/bacteria and juniper, adding kumquat, gooseberry and cranberry notes. Low acetic and light Brett round out the finish with no alcohol or flaw lingering.
In the mouth it's very tart, with biscuity, lightly cereal-like malts for balance. Vanilla and honey are light with high attenuation taking care of most of that. Lots of lactic acid with moderate juniper-like acidity adding spicy, gooseberry and cranberry-like notes. Tight carbonation and quite a bit of sourness and dryness, pushes it to the edge of balanced. Despite the tannin and malt/wheat structure, it has more sour/dry elements than soft/sweet and could use a bit more. Still enjoyable though and a nice nod to Sahtis and other Scandinavian beers of this sort.
