The cooper. The carpenter of wooden barrels wasn’t the most important man in the port at first glance. But at the latest when it came to the question of fermenting and storing beer, he was. Thank you, cooper for your deeds! This draft beer is for you! The Barbarossa I am Gose is a Sour beer as you may know. This historic beer style has no ordinary taste, but is nevertheless an exceptional and delicious beer. Special about it is definitely the infusion of medium toasted American Oak chips.

Tap at the Baby Goat in the Hafencity Kitchen thing. Pale hazy golden, offwhite low cream. Very slight gariby fruity aroma. Medium to light chewy, slightly tart base. Light funky hay and leather notes, barrel chips, light flowery notes. Easy drink.

Tap at The Baby Goat, Hamburg. Clear golden, ever so slightly hazy. Peach, apple, fruity. Yes it is a bit sour, but at the same time a bit chalky dry. Not really convinced; on the other hand I ve had much worse Gose.

0,3 l bottle. Batch No. 003. Now listed with 5% abv. BB 12/2029. Very pale yellow golden in the glass, small fast fading head. Slightly cloudy. Some fishy elements on the nose, maybe due to the salt. Taste is more on the winery side, some wood, less salt. Smooth pale grain. Thin texture. Easy drinker, didn´t hurt. Can not convince.

330ml bottle. Slightly milky, yellow-ish, pale golden colour with huge, frothy, osteoporosing, snow white head. Weak, slightly woody, minimally tangy aroma, hints of oak, a touch of smoked sauerkraut, minimally waxy and dusty overtones. Taste is mildly tart, tangy and fruity, minimally woody, hints of yellow stone fruit, nectarine, a touch of salt, a weak touch of oak. Watery texture, minimally dry and astringent palate, coarse, lively carbonation. Nice composition, but weak, light and cautious, nevertheless fairly refreshing - so-so.

Spritziger, überraschend leerer Beginn. Kaum Säure, schwacher Körper, minimale Holznoten durch die Holzchips. Wässrig. Meh. 9/6/5/5/9/5

Baby Goat House: pours lightly hazy. Aroma is wierd, not funky enough. This is a gose? In what world? No salt, no lactos funk.
