Woody and pit with prune. Clear gold with almost no head. Sweet and some caramel with a touch vegetal.

330mL bottle, pours a hazy dark orange with a tiny beige head. Aroma is treacly and sweet, with caramel, dark fruits, and toffee. Flavour is very sweet, with lots of toffee, brown sugar, and caramel. Not that boozy for a 18% ABV, but it is borderline cloying. Fun stuff.

Light amber. On the nose, quite sweet, a bit caramelly, and a big thwack of alcohol as well. Soft malts, quite a bit of sugar, not bad. Just enough balance, and a lot of that comes from alcohol in the finish. Ends up actually okay, though definitely simple.

Tap @ Borefts. Pale amber color. Vinous aroma with dried fruit. Massively sweet flavor, vinous, almond spice (amandelspijs), confit fruit. Hint of oak. Warming alcohol.

2019-09-05, can from The Gull, North Vancouver, 7-3-8-4-16=38
Hazy copper-amber colour. Maybe a bit of vegetables in the aroma (6.5), but the flavour is quite solid.

Light brown, filthy cloudy, with no head. The aroma is not unusual for European barley wines, but for me it's a bit off, it has sour notes, apple/calvados, reminds me of some Danish/Dutch barley wine of the last decade. Full bodied, sweet, but also with a punch-in-the-face alcohol feeling; the malt base is rich enough to me, and the extreme alcohol makes it an interesting novelty barley wine.
Fuck balance.

Small can at Alex's. Appearance: cloudy dirty golden with a weak white head. Aroma: sweet, caramel, some malty notes, a bit of very sweet apricot jam. Taste: along the same lines, very sweet, boozy. Overall: not very complex or elegant, but it's ok.

Draught @ 10th. BBF 2018 [ 10th Borefts Beer Festival 2018 ] @ Brouwerij de Molen, Bodegraven, Netherlands. [ As Kees Barley Wine Reserva ].Hazy medium amber orange colour with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, rich malt, malty, dried fruit, resin, alcohol, honey - apple. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, sweet dried fruit, boozy, sweet fruit, rich maly, sugary, apple - honey. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. IMO quit odd, simple, ruff, boozy and unbalanced ... not my thing ! [20180921] 6-2-6-3-12

Can. Amber pour. Aroma of booze, raisin, caramel and malt. Taste has sweet raisin candy, caramel, booze, sticky rum and a boozy finish. This is basicaly a bad malt liquor. I'm happy that I'm drinking this cold, so that it's just pleasent enough to finish. Bad job from Kees.

Borefts X. I'm ten for ten! Day 2. Keg. Hazy orange - amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, soft, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft and very sweet malts, little caramel - toffee. Dried fruits and mild spice. Smooth finish. Simple and sweet but hides the abv well.
