Bottle. Really deep golden brown color. Typical quad Belgian spice taste and aroma. Just a tad boozey.

375ml bottle. Clear, dark chestnut colour with ruby glimmer and small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Fruity, yeasty and slightly breadyand minimally nutty, malty aroma, notes of dried fruit, raisin, fig, date, sweet-ish and earthy hints of honey, some treacle, a touch of chestnut. Taste is dry, minimally sweet, minimally bitter, yeasty fruity and bready malty, notes of plum and cherry, dried fruit, raisin, fig, date, some treacle, honey, blue grapes, a touch of apple, baked apple, chestnut and even Brazil nut; minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Relatively watery texture with a minimally slimy touch, slightly prickly carbonation. Rich and complex, definitely a sipper, but partially so light and almost refreshing that you might be teased to speed up the frequency of sips into dangerous areas. Really nice and accommodating, but not exposing sufficient signs of individual character nor terroir to make a name for itself comparable to the classics in this style.

Bottle split at CBC Islington, belated Tipple 10K, thanks to the Leighton, 18/12/18. Hazed mahogany brown with a decent beige cap. Nose is stewed fruits, dates, toffee, sugars. Taste comprises sticky fruits, caramel, raisins, hint of red berries, tobacco, toffee. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, balanced warming alcohol in the close. Decent enough quad.

Craft Islington Bottleshare. Hazy amber - brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, recent fine carbonation. Smooth sweetish malts, little caramel and cream. Slight oxidised vibe. Little bouncy blueberry gives a resemblance of freshness. Tidy.

Bottle shared in London - picked up online. Pours amber-brown with a small, creamy beige head. Sweet, some butterscotch, tangy berries, brown bread, mild booze. Medium to full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, more ripe and lightly tangy dark berries, nips of Belgian yeast, brown bread. Solid.

Bottled 375ml (vintage 2016)
Dark ruby colour, small beige head. Lots of raisins in the nose with some caramel, plastic, overriped berries and alcohol. Medium-bodied. Berryish, toffeish flavour. Overriped gooseberries, dates and raisins. Some alcohol. Still lively carbonation. Finishing a bit thin. Pleasant. Warming.

At a tasting, smallish head, cloudy brown color, aroma of dried fruits and alcohol with dark bread behind, dark fruits flavor with alcohol, a bit of metal and chocolate cake behind. Drinkable but nothing too exciting.
