(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 18.02.2020, from Pothouse, 20190608) The beer poured brown and cloudy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had caramel, raisins, malts and alcohols. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, caramel, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, boozy and bitter. A sweet malty brew that hid its high ABV rather well.

Danke an martjoobolut. Heller, süßlich alkoholischer Malzgeruch. Im Geschmack zwar stark malzig aber weniger süß als befürchtet, dennoch schwer, alkoholisch, behäbig. Würzig, weich, angenehm bitter, schon irgendwie harmonisch. Steigende Süße, trockener Hintergrund. Schwierig. 9/8/9/7/9/8

330 ml from SIP. Pours darker amber/copper, some beige foam on top. Nose is a bit sweet, jam and herbal marmalade, lots of malty sweetness there but also some herbal-bitter edge. Tastes full bodied, a bit creamy and has some herbal bitterness. Actually feels more like a hoppy barleywine than a maibock - but I guess as far as styles go, these should be quite close anyway. 3Bit of alcohol edge with some extra bitter notes. Lingering bittersweet feel and some dry fruits in the finish. Pretty good, not that easy to drink a full bottle though. I should get a bottle and age it for a few years, could be interesting.

Draft at the source, one day before its release - we were sworn to secrecy and asked not to rate it until after release day which was yesterday. Hazy amber color white head. Floral aroma with lightly toasted caramel. Taste is very malt forward, a strong one but not boozy. Turned out pretty well I think.
