Tyler Brown is a legend in the beer industry, the godfather of modern IPA in the Northwest, and one of the best storytellers you'll ever meet. We've been lucky enough to soak up tons of knowledge from Tyler and his crew at Barley Brown's, and there's no doubt that Breakside IPA and Wanderlust exist the way they do today thanks to the influence of Tyler, Eli, Shawn, and Marks. It was a no-brainer to host them as part of our 10th anniversary collaborations and also a no-brainer to make a West Coast IPA with them. When we sat down to make this beer, we asked, 'how would we design a new West Coast IPA in 2020' that captures the direction that WC IPA is heading? The resulting beer is filled with three of the fruitiest hops around, Strata, Mosaic, and Azacca, along with a touch of Simcoe to anchor the beer in classic dank and catty West Coast flavor. The bitterness is modest, the malt bill is extremely lean, and the ABV is moderate. It's a contemporary West Coast IPA for the new decade.

Can (11/20/25) from Whole Foods, Sherman Oaks. Lightly hazy, bright yellow, nice sparkle, decent head with good retention and soapy lacing. Aroma is strong pink grapefruit, orange, pine, musky herb/slight cat piss. Taste mirrors aroma. Smooth, creamy, frothy texture, soft carbonation and dry finish as taste with light bitterness. With these hops, I was skeptical that this would be West Coast and not hazy/juicy but the brewery masterfully achieved what it set out to achieve, along with good complexity. Not my preference but tip of the cap for being well crafted.

Imperial pint can. Herbal hop aroma with notes of grassy hops, guava, strawberry, dank grapefruit and floral hops. Pours clear golden colored with a large white head that has excellent retention and decent lacing. Starts with guava, strawberry and grassy hops flavors. Finishes dank and dry with herbal hop, grapefruit and floral hop flavors. Quite delightful.

Can from Tavour. Pours gold with a moderate white head. Aroma of citrus, pine and pale prunus fruit. Med plus body. Frothy carbonation in the mouth. It's somewhat fruity, well towards dry, and more than moderately bitter. Pale malt support nearly hidden by the flavors. I'm going with citrus, pine and peach. Nice flavor indeed.

On tap at Breakside - NW Slabtown, pours a clear copper blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out loads of dank, pot-like hops, some pine, and biscuity malt. Flavour is dank and biting, with lots of pot-like hops, pine, and crisp biscuity malt. Pot-like, piney, and crisp finish. Excellent WC IPA.
