An indulgent imperial Baltic porter brewed with dried coffee cherries to celebrate Baltic Porter Day 2024.

Appearance: A pitch black beer with a luscious tan head.

Nose: A tantalizing blend of sweet cherry compote, double shot of espresso, toasted almonds and a delightful hint of warming spices.

Malts: Munich light, pilsner zero, rye malt, chocolate rye, red rye crystal, Carafa special T-2

Bottle from ermm... not sure. Dark. Cola brown tint. The tan head is initially foam6 but then almost entirely shrinks away, leaving a thin band around the rim. The aroma has gingerbread with a coffee bitterness and light liqourice. A tangy bitterness. Coffee and liqourice. Doughy underbelly Medium bodied. Creamy but also a soft-fizzy carbonation that jazzes things up. And chalky. A whipped cream with the added texture of ground spice. Long dry astringent finish. Not always a fan of spices (not spicy) beers but this is good stuff.

25/1/2025. Bottle at the ITFC Vintage and rare Saturday share part 1. From Hopsters, Ipswich courtesy of ITFCDan. Pours close to black with a small frothy beige head. Aroma is dark chocolate, roasted malt, sweet coffee, cherry liqueur, vanilla, light coconut. Nicely balanced taste, with some nice sweetness, light bitterness and toasted notes. Quite full bodied, smooth, soft carbonation. Enjoyed this.

Cremiger, süß malziger Antrunk, Kakao, weiche Herbe, der Alkohol ist gut versteckt. Tonkabohne, Schokolade, unterdurchschnittlich karbonisiert. Würzig-malziger Abgang, gut. 10/10/11/10//11

330ml bottle at the Beer Bank, Kuala Lumpur City Centre. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a thin, round light tan head. The aroma is roasted malt and molasses. The flavour is moderate sweet and liquorice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, earthy, light marzipan, dark chocolate, light boozy, liquorice bitter palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Damn good. Big coffee and roasted malt flavour, with a fruity, smooth finish.

This bottle is a little disappointing. It’s quite sharp, dry but with a thick sweetness in the back. Good, but not for Pohjala. Sterk ams

--Sample, thanks oh6gdx! -- Black, beige head. Potent aroma with earthy coffee and dark cherries. Mid sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Earthy licorice, cherry brandy and coffee. Mildly bitter finish. One of the rare beers where fruit is contributing in a positive way.
