[Cask at the Alehouse, Reading.] An interesting coloured pint, seemingly a deep, almost opaque reddish brown, but a bright golden barley when held to the light; soft vegetal aroma; rather thin in the mouth, but with a buttery, biscuity malt taste; then a dry finish with a light bitterness and some lingering buttered toast. An excellent old-fashioned bitter.
