(Bottle 33 cl) Lightly hazy dark amber with a rather handsome, lightly creamy, off-white head. Lightly smoky, sourish nose. Rather light-bodied with the sourness hitting your buds first, then comes the the smoke and in the end some sweetish malt. Unusual beer for Switzerland but quite interesting. Not quite as hardcore as the most extreme Germans though. Thanks to Bov for this rare brew. 260106

A hazy amber beer with a thin lazing off-white head. The aroma is a lovely smoked bacon combined with slight hints of tar. The flavor is sweet and quite carbonated with a subdued smokyness, as well as a sour fruityness. Nice, but not as good as expected.

Fiery reddish brown with particulate matter and a rich head. Slightly smoky, slightly toasty aroma. Big smoky flavour, soft body and slight fizz in the finish. Warming toffeeish malts back it up.

Bottled, thanks Bov! Cloudy brownish amber, creamy head. Smokey, lightly acidic nose. Dry with pleasant soft mouthfeel. Firmly malty, flowery bitter finsih. Unusual and very pleasant!

Slightly hazy amber; good yellowish, thick head, irregular. Smoked nose with a touch of sourness - superb!! Smoked malts, unripe fruits. Again a just superb blend of smokiness (reminding me of Herrnsdorfer Rauchzart) and sour fruitness - a touch wheaty. Sourish grapes. Very refreshing despite the smokiness. Love it. Well-bodied. Please!! Lambicbrewers, start experimenting with smoked Bamberg malt, please. Jacob L., it’s not just gueuze with imperial doses of American hops, we want - we need it to be full of smoked malts too! Thanks Alex!!

2013-06-22, bottle, 5.5% ABV, 7-4-7-4-15=37
Dark amber color with medium sized head. Moderate smoke aroma; light yeast too. The smoke is more present in the flavor, with the dark caramel; correct bitterness; compared to the Aecht Schlenkerla, it has a weaker body, more ashes, a bit of sourness. It’s very good.
2003-06-13, draught, 5% ABV, 7-4-8-4-15=38
Dark amber color. Light smokey aroma; bread. Very good body, smokey, malty, quite sweet. I guess it would be perfect with a sharper bitterness, but can be compared to some Bamberg ones!
