For batch #400 we ages double bock in Widow Jane bourbon barrels which previously held whisky and later our own very own mead colab. Dazzling tastes of vanilla and caramel emerge from this aging process. The mead also gives this beer a hint of honey which feels right at home in this rich Amber beer. Crispness is in high definition thanks to the exquisite malt backbone that is Trøndersk Fairytale Munich malt straight from the crafty fields of Bonsak Gårdsmalteri. Additionally we have Belgian candy syrup shining through with its robust personality to add yet more layers.

Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 7 | Overall - 7.5
Aroma starts with a slight whisky tone, which is followed by honey. I am quite sensitive to honey aroma and thought it was to much, but it probably wasn't. Color is deep red, and not amber. Clear. Head disappears after two minutes. Moutfeel is quite thick, sweet, almost oily, and leaves a coating effect in the mouth. Slightly drying aftertaste. Not a lot of hops that get through here. Quite sweet. When warmed up, it tend to feel a lot thinner. To my palate, the honey if the mead dominates the other aromas.
Batch #400, BF:2.2.26. Probably a one-off batch.
