Syrleg, men samstundes ein rund munnfølelse.

Eple & humle, Gladmaten dag 2.

350 ml bottle, as OmCider Fatlagra Holka, from the cidery. ABV is 8%. Deep golden colour, no carbonation. Pleasant aroma of concentrated cider and apple juice. Lovely sweet flavour of concentrated apple juice, oak and red wine, a hint of sulphites.

Bottle, 35cl, cognac style corking. From trade with Bryne. A still, crystal clear dark golden colored cider, headless. Sort of woody, almost like used barrels, aroma with lots of concentrated apple juice. Apple jam, apple pie hints, some lemony hints and a touch of grass as well. Almost funky, cheesy and leathery. It's full-bodied and quite dry for an ice cider. Quite low on ABV too, but the combination works well. There's still enough sweetness to make it work, and a sort of balancing acidity. Vinous, lightly warming, very lightly tannin-ish. The flavor follows up what the aroma started. It's apple driven, but there's so much else going on. Vinous, oak-ish notes, lemon hints, some funk. Very long finish with a quite acidic twist. I must admit I was a bit sceptical about this one, partly because of the ABV, partly because it's the cidery's first try, and when I took the first sniff I got a bit worried that I might have bought a quite expensive bottle that I wouldn't appreciate. But after a minute or two of aeration, it slowly turned out to be a really pleasant ice cider, just slightly different. Will I buy it again? Doubt so, it was really, really expensive, but it was sure a quality drink. 240404
