Oh the shitshow to get this one...
Only for sale on webshop in 3 packs - webshop only ships when purchasing like 12 bottles minimum. I can get / have got the other blends in physical shops near my house, so thats a very expensive joke to taste this one particular beer, which I'm stuck with in multiple bottles. No exceptions (I tried)
Their shop on the other hand, takes me hours and multiple transfers on Public transportation, or a car ride (no parking around, traffic is hell) + the opening hours are just shit... But they sell by the bottle. SO i saccreficed a full day, on my pelgrimage to BBP to buy 1 beer.
Which turned out to be not rare, not limited, not hyped, nothing anywhere remotely reason-giving for it to be this shitty to get. They just wanted to act tough and not give it any distribution.
So, finally, I ended up with one bottle I hate looking at , but of which I sincerely HOPE it'll be worth the hassle.
Pours a medium colored golden, small white fading head. Scent is ... Funky ! On top of the usual brett, lambic fiunk, oak,... There's a very specific and outspoken, very overripe orange - like aroma.
Taste is quite dry, funky - the lambic in itself is quite mild, but the Koji (I'm not all to familiar with it, drank 1-2 beers but no lambics with Koji, and a bunch of Sake's which is vastly diffent) is quite outspoken. Presenting still quite overripe citrussy, but more like a very overripe lemon, perhaps, rather than orange. I'm honestly not loving it - I like the experiment, and the way it turned out to be quite outspoken (most outspoken koji in beer so far, on my humble list of tried koji beers) so I'm not saying it's a failed experiment, or one that should not be. It's simply not a direction my palate will happily persue.
I'm sure happy I didn't add up with 2 more 75's to solodome, plus several other overpriced bottles , just to have tried this one....
