Based on our award winning Plain Porter, this is a smooth tasting creamy stout with a distinctive chocolate aroma and taste from the use of high cocoa solid chocolate added to the copper and chocolate essence. With hints of vanilla, caramel and dark fruits, the beer has a very rich and full flavour.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 24/04/21. Black with a handsome tan cap that stays for the show. Nose is chocolate truffle, dark malts, mellow roast, toffee fudge, brown sugar dusting. Taste comprises mellow roast, chocolate, toffee, brown sugars, chocolate tinged porridge, dark malts, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close. Decent flavoursome stout for the ABV.

On tap at Ammutsøn. Black as outer space. Cacao nitro foamy head. Silky smooth taste, hints of chocolate truffle, nutty coffee fading to a smooth bitterness. The first sip was like drinking silk; I think I would like that. And if someone would liquify black silk, this is how I would imagine it tastes. Props to the bar for their nitro setup BTW.

7/5/2019. Cask at the Porterhouse, Temple Bar. Pours black with a lasting creamy off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, raspberry ripple ice cream, sweet light rum truffle, vanilla, roasted malt and lactose. Medium sweetness and medium plus roasted bitterness. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Bitter roasted choclate finish. Good one.

On tap at The Porterhouse, pours a deep dark brown with a slight red tinge and a small tan head. Nose brings out chocolate truffles - smells great. Flavour is quite rich, with dark chocolate truffles dominating. Smooth, fairly rich, and creamy on the palate. Finished slightly metallic. Very nice.
