capped bottle with wax protection. Super smart waxing technology with a strip in there you can tug at and remove the wax. Not sure if the strip compromize oxygen protection though.
pours very dark and very thick, pitch black, small dark brown head that soon disappears.
sweet roasted malty and vanilla aroma, faint fine boozy note - a bit like port wine cellar, but faint.
flavor is roasted malts, vanilla, faint cake frosting, faint dark high quality chocolate, alc. can be sensed a bit towards the aftertaste but is otherwise well hidden, end is a bit of a fizzle, not the roasted malty intensity gain i had hoped for. Palate is thick, overall a very good sipper where you can actually taste the roasted malts and where the tonka beans have just added some character.

Bottle picked up from an online order from the brewery and consumed at home Monday 30th December 2024, shared with Baz. We had a Raclette meal tonight prepared by Loz and Isobel. Listening to Tom Ravenscroft on 6Music. Pours black with a fast disappearing head, tonka bean on the nose along with vanilla. Thick in the mouth, chocolate and tonka bean dominant, very rich and indulgent, a little warmth from the alcohol it's a delicious beer.

Tap at Salon Piva 04/2024. Malty aroma and taste, light roastyness, chocolate, tonka beans, vanilla and spicy notes, medium bitter, light sweet. Full body, oily texture, malty choco tonka bitter sweet finish. Good.
