Brown orange in color with a rich malty biscuit. The taste is crisp malty but also a bit dank especially in the aftertaste. This was the one we liked best of the three and did really well for blending. 3.7

Bottle (thanks jinroh). Pours amber. Aroma is bready, malty, slightly sour. Flavor is sweet and bitter, fruity, somewhat buttery, malty. Finish is malty. Overall: okish.

Bottle from the brewery set. Light oxidation, rich caramel malt. Deep orange-brown. Sweet, rich malt flavor, caramel, light stone fruit, some raisin and plum, just a touch of hops. Full body. Rich and tasty but probably past it’s prime. Best when blended with the others.

Bottle from the brewery, mail order. Pours brownish amber, some cloudiness there. Not that much different from fresher versions, maybe a bit darker, that's it. Nose has lots of caramel, feels sweeter and more blended together. Dark fruits, cherries and black plums. Hops are pretty much gone, so I guess that's the reason why it has more sweetness. Taste has more of these sweet fruits, also figs, lots of caramel and just a hint of lighter hops in the finish. Light herbal bitterness in that caramel linger that remains in the mouth after drinking this. Definitely has that aged beer character, quite enjoyable - although maybe finish feels a bit lame. Looking forward to blending all three versions.
