Collaboration with Raaka Chocolate in Red Hook. Imperial stout aged in Taconic bourbon barrels for one year and conditioned on Ugandan cacao nibs & toasted coconut . Medium-full body with rich malty notes of bourbon, bittersweet layers of milk and dark chocolate, coconut, light roast coffee, subtle maple, toffee and American oak. Balanced with touch of residual sweetness on the finish.

Inky dark brown. No head. Nutty aroma, a bit of the toasted coconut. Light chocolate. On the palate, medium body, some coconut, maybe a bit chocolate. A bit light on the palate, finishes on the thin side. It's okay, but an overall lack of refinement here.

12 oz. can, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is hot and harsh, with a very perfumey spirit barrel along with glue -- I wouldn't have identified this as bourbon, nor do I get the adjuncts. Flavour is full of glue and perfumey spirit. There are few redeeming qualities here. Barrel-aging gone wrong.

Poured from 355mL can. Very dark brown with very minimal tan head. Feint coffee and chocolate, light wood glue, very feint maple quality, but not finding the coconut. Below verage.

355mL can. Puors black with minimal beige head. Glue on the nose, a touch of cocoa. Flavour has bitter chocolate, tons of glue. I don't understand where the glue is coming from, but it's very uncomfy. Myeh.

Noted it as Wild East Stout - and this was the only stout they had in Prague on day 1 I reckon. Impressive black body, off-white head. Green apple / acetaldehyde hitting immediately in the otherwise sweet aroma, with barrel coming in to save the day, bringing in vanilla-like notes as well, with the rest being integrated pretty well into it. Coffee kicks in the taste, with a significant cocoa presence as well, the barrel doing its stuff, but with the green apple touches persisting. Shame, it had some very nice aspects, obvious effort was put into it, it was a good idea, but it's sliiightly flawed (and aren't we all).

On tap at the brewery. Pours black. Chocolate, bourbon, nutty, vanilla, honey, rich whisky, roast, light bitterness, light booze, creamy intense chocolate. Medium body. Very nice.
