Maple syrup nose. Black, thin tan head. Charred oak, maple syrup, cocoa, coffer. Full body, easy carbonation.

Can. Black beer with a brown head. Maple and chocolate aroma. Chocolate and maple flavor with caramel. Medium-plus bodied. Chocolate and maple linger with caramel.

Quite dark, thick head. Lots of coffee and maple. Rich coffee, sweet, nice maple. This is good. Chocolate, the slightly lighter body versus dbl stack.

Can at home. Opaque black color, small off-white to beige head. Aroma and flavor are malts, (Dutch) "hopjesvla", cocoa, butterscotch, oddly weird chocolate bitter. Hard to describe but it is weird and I don't like it. Bleh.

On tap at Great Notion - Alberta, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is loaded with intense maple syrup, light coffee, and a touch of vanilla. Flavour is dominated by coffee, accentuated with light maple syrup, and some earthiness. Sweet but dry, with an earthy coffee finish. Pleasant but a shell of Double Stack.

Poured from the tap. Near black with small beige head. Tons of maple syrup on the nose. Taste is coffee forward with a maple underlay. It has some nuance despite the huge maple character.
