Can 33 cl. Pours thick black, almost syrupy, with a small and creamy, light brown head. Fatty curtains inside the glass. The nose is totally dominated by sweet vanilla accents atop some faint but also sweet roastiness. Rich, sweet body, chocolate roast and again a shitload of vanilla. Potent finish. The licorice is very discreet. One for those with a sweet tooth. 051224

Can, 0.33l. Aroma of caramel, roasted malt, vanilla, chocolate, dried fruit and liquor. Pours almost black color with thick soapy light brown head and nice lacing. Taste starts with sweet chocolate, licorice and caramel, following is mildly roasted and nutty with vanilla note, mouthfeel is smooth and warm alcoholic, while finish is average bitter. Full body, creamy texture and soft to average carbonation in palate. Blacman…

330ml slim can from Vinmonopolet Langnes. A creamy, fawn-coloured head over a jet black body, spotty lacing. Inviting chocolate malts on the nose, smoothly roasted. Rich malt-driven taste of vanilla chocolate and liquorice. Lingering chocolate ending, nicely roasted, and rather sweet. Well bodied. Likeable sipper on a Saturday eve. (Tromsø, 24.08.2024).

Can. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy dark tan head. Clear aroma of chocolate, vanilla and malt, with estery touches. Sweet flavour of chocolate and lactose, with a truckload of vanilla and another one of liquorice. Bitter aftertaste of roast and alcohol, with sweet notes of vanilla and liquorice. Warming alcohol presence. Well, I actually like it, although I realise it may not appeal to many beer enthusiasts.

Can, 10.5%. Distinct vanilla powder aroma. Black colour. Very small light brown head. The flavour is extremely sugary with marshmallow, powdered cocoa and vanilla to it. Much too sweet for me. The taste is good, but too sweet and sticky. Very late, but also quite powerful liquorice aftertaste.

33cl can from AbeerVinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours black, with basically no foam. Aroma is intense of licorice, chocolate and liquor. Even a little nutty. Vanilla is evident as well. Body is fairly dense, with limited carbonation. A little sticky. Taste is intensely sweet, matched by some toasty in the background. Final is warm, intense, sweet, with a long final of licorice (the stick of licorice).
