Half pint at Chinaski Lavapies pours a translucent deep amber brown with some khaki head. Nose has cocoa off the top but it doesnt read as sweet, very malty and bread. Dried fruits reminiscent of a doppel. There's some booze too. Cocoa helps root this as a porter, because all signs point to something far more continental like a dubbel or doppel. Lots of dried dark fruit. Full bodied with a lick of bitterness. Its fun but perhaps off track.

Negra casi, de espuma ocre duradera. Malteada y alcohólica en el aroma. Definitivamente licórica en boca, de textura densa oleosa. Algo ácida, y sabor malteado, caramelo y especias todo ello eclipsado por el alcohol.

Bottled. A black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, alcohol, and a bit of whiskey. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, wood, caramel, and whiskey, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.
