Can on the Portishead tour, picked up from the taproom, 01/08/2026.
Hazed orange yellow topped with an off white cap that thins to a swirl.
Nose is orange pith, grass, mandarin, pine whisper.
Taste comprises ripe tropicana, subtle hop spice, pine resin, dank chimes.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with juicy come resinous hop bitterness.
Tidy punchy pale.

APA by this familiar Liverpool-based craft brewery, hopped with Citra, Strata and El Dorado. Can from the Jumbo supermarket in Ghent. Thick and foamy, snow white, membrane-lacing, firm, frothy head over a clouded pale yellow-straw blonde robe with beige-ish tinge. Aroma of pomelo, withering dill, unripe pineapple, pepino, Cape gooseberry, touch curry powder, green melon, unripe banana, lime zest, lemongrass, stewed leek, fresh dough, whipped cream. Crisp and zesty onset, hop-fruity, with unripe mango, pepino, Cape gooseberry and green pear notes, perhaps a touch pineapple, lively carbonated with minerally effect running through smooth white-bready, slightly doughy maltiness soaked in 'green' hop fruitiness, exotic but not in an overly sultry and sweet way; instead, more refreshing notes of starfruit, lime zest and green guava join in, even unripe pear, next to a subtle sweeter mandarin touch. A mild grassy bitterness and slight powderiness remain clinging to the tongue after swallowing. Soft, aromatic without becoming too much "in your face", slender and refreshing postmodern APA - perhaps lacking just a tad of 'biscuitiness' in the malt department, but the hops are well-applied and it meets expectations. Enjoyed this quite a lot.

Draught keg at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Very light gold, almost straw. Hazy with a white ring of head & good lacing. Aroma of vanilla, cracked wheat, stone fruit. Sweet taste, more stone fruit and a nice biscuity malt base. Light-ish body with heavy, tight carbonation. As good as what I've come to expect from Azvex.

Keg at Tapps Conwy. Hqzy pale gols. Thing foamy white head. Aroma is then low key - light stone fruit with a vanilla enhanced porridge streak. Light sour. Citrusy. A hint of resin. Underlying tangy sweet juice. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Pleasent but lacks oomph.
