One of Uiltje's attempts at sour ale, can shared by Goedele at Billie's in Antwerp, cheers sweetheart! Loose and thin edge of small, off-white bubbles but no true 'head' to speak of, hazy ochre-ish tinged golden robe. Aroma of overripe (if not rotting) cucumber rather than fresh crisp cucumber like I was hoping, pumpkin flesh and zucchini, cereals, sourdough, old potatoes, chalky touch, diluted lime juice. Crisp, sour onset, lime and gherkin but somewhat restrained, cucumber recognisable, soft carb, supple and soapy mouthfeel; sourdough- and white bread-like, thinnish, cereally malt base dried by the ongoing, simple, lime-like 'kettle' sourness, lactic, with that rather unpleasant 'rotting cucumber' effect returning retronasally, along with some fruity, earthy (potato juice) and chalky aspects. Drinkable sour, but as with many other of these new wave craft brewers trying to master litterally every style in existence, a bit 'sloppy' and easy - no true sour beer greatness to be found here. As great as most of their top-fermented beers can be, mixed fermentation is apparently something Uiltje still needs to work on.

Draft at Borefts 2018. Aroma of tart, wheat and cucumber. Taste has watery sour-is cucumber and some tart mostly. Not the best.

Tap sample at Uiltje Taproom. Hazy pale golden colour, white head. Aroma of pickles, cucumber, wheat. Flavour of fresh cucumber, raw wheat, grain, light pickles, soft tart finish. Light bodied. Not for me.

Sampled @ Borefts Beer Festival, Day 1. Hazy very pale yellow color, small white head. Aroma is absolutely disgusting. It just stinks of sour rotting something. Piss. Don't really dare to taste it, but I did… Fucking disgusting. Rotten, sour, piss, tart, very very unpleasant. Horrible.

Hazy pale blond colour with no head. Aroma and flavour have some cucumber but it's quite weak. Thinnish body. Lightly tart.

Borefts 2018. Day 1. Sampled draft. Thank you for sharing! Golden citrus,… Nose is weird green cucumber all green, vegetable. Taste is vegetable more vague green, no real cucumber, sour grains, weird, strange grainy, low green, hay,… Poor green grainy,… Meh & misses real cucumber.
