Ah, the clever little clementine. It shines bright in the depths of winter - yet crate loads are still discarded simply because they're imperfect. Here's our solution. We rescue all the surplus clementines we can, balance their juicy zestiness with aromatic cardamom and brew this: a deliciously light, fruity beer that also helps address food waste. Remember: taste not waste!

33cl Fles van AH. Troebelgele kleur, witte kraag. Mandarijntjes maar gelukkig niet te heftig aanwezig, meer in een soort Fanta-manier, wat cardamom, beetje munt-citroen-achtig, fris, hoog radlergehalte maar niet te zoet. Lichte body. Prima.

Pours a cloudy straw yellow body and a decent white head with little retention. Aroma': grain, spices - cardamom indeed, but subtle. Retronasal it's juicy sourish citrus, cardamom. Flavour is light moderate sweet and light citrus sour. Light bodied, but not too thin. Light bitter finish. Quite pleasant actually.

0.33 l bottle from 'AH XL' (Enschede), best before May 2025. Very hazy, pale golden with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, minimally sourish, rather fruity aroma of orange, tangerine and some lemonade. Gently sweet, a little sourish, rather fruity and a little spicy taste of tangerine, orange, some lemonade and hints of cardamom, followed by a short, gently bitter, minimally tart finish. Thin to medium body, slightly astringent and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant thirst-quencher.
