500ml bottle, batch nr. 2767(?), bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Steady fawn-coloured head leaving scattered lacing on the glass, deep rustic-black body. Attractive on the nose with a well roasted caramel-chocolate twist added by a scent of dark fruits. Fine blended taste of stewed fruits, dark malts, wood, and kveik. Nicely spiced, roasted malt-dark fruity tail. Well bodied. Enjoyed early on a Saturday afternoon. (Tromsø, 30.12.2023).

Bottle. A dark brown beer with a dense, finger-thick dark beige head. The aroma has roasted malts, dark chocolate and licorice, along with an earthy note, toffee and heather honey. It's full-bodied and lightly warming, nicely carbonated and perhaps a bit sweet, but there's some bitterness too. Flavorwise it's pretty much like the aroma, with more focus on honey and herbal flavors. The juniper is present too, although it feels like a mix between juniper and pine needles. Lots of flavor in the finish too, where it also feels a bit fizzy, even though it felt just right initially. Quite lasting swallow. A nice brew indeed, but I can't help thinking it feels a bit messy in a way. 231225

Delt med EgilB. Svart. Høyt lysebrunt skum som daler sakte. Lett julekrydderaroma. Smaken julekaker. Spor av honning. Tørr, litt bitter avslutning. Brukbart juleøl.
