Panda thanks to Cloin. A light haze on this darkish amber beer, tiny mayfly paleish tan head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, a light fine minerally carbonation. Modest caramel toffee malts. Good ripe fruity whiskey dominates and not over alcohol hit. Unfortunately, some gluey by-products are also much in evidence. Maybe directly from the whiskey barrel? Don't know. Semi dry and fairly light finish. Nearly a good barleywine but, for m, ultimately a bit hamstrung by some weird flavours.

Bottle at home, pretty sure I picked this up from a bottle shop in Malaga, 31/12/24. Last rake of the year ? Maybe ... maybe not. Dark mahogany brown topped with a good sized beige cap that thins to a swirl over time. Nose is vinous, oak, sherry notes, stewed fruits, toffee, spice. Taste comprises tarte fruit rinds, sherry, vinous, oak, toffee, dark malts, dates. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balance spike of alcohol. Tidy sipper but sherry all the way for me over any whisky profile.

Cremiger malziger Beginn. Starke Holznoten, vinös, moderate Herbe. Cremig, leicht süß, vollmundig. Langer Abgang. 10/11/13/12//12

Draught@Konttori, Tampere. Deep coppery brown colour with a minor off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some quite strong wooden tones and mild sherryish and red wine elements to it as well. Flavour is sweet malts, liquorice, alcohol, some wooden and mild fudgey tones with mild spiciness as well. Good sipper.
