Slightly aged sample Whipped eggwhite-like medium head, stable and lacey, fed by finely carbonated orange-golden beer. Bit of oxydation indeed. Sweet & toasted matls, dry spices - maltbomb. Sweet matls with a nice, light-bitterish and toasted overcoat. Again spicy, tad herbal. Other grains despite all the malt. Feels quite carbonated and quite slick, light to medium body. Not bad.

Bottle - Light caramel and a touch of grain. Clear gold with a small white head. Sweet, almost stone fruit and a bitter sweet finish.

Big beige lasting head. Clear coppery body with light carbonation. Fruity toffee caramel aroma, but very closed and dense. Sweet chemical fruity papery taste with mealy notes. Fullish body. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Sweet-bitter caramelly papery aftertaste with fruity mealy notes. Sharpish, wooden finish. It’s not bad, but too dense and artificial to really appeal. (0.33l bottle, from some supermercat in Barcelona.)

330ml bottle. Deep amber colour with a foam white head leaving alittle lacing. Aroma of malt, honey, grassy. Taste is malty, sweetish, bready, caramel, chocolate, toffee, and some earthy bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, slight spicy finish. Quite OK

330 ml bottle into dimpled mug, best before 7/2016. Pours fairly clear orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of honey, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, light pepper, apricot, apple, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity and bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with good strength. A bit too fruity, but not bad. Flavors of big honey, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of honey, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/pepper, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Fairly clean on lager flavors; some light yeasty/fruity notes in the taste. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy/bready, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 7.2%. Overall this is a very good marzen style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. This was a bit too fruity in the nose; but it was much cleaner, and very true to style in the flavors. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle from Total Wine In Sacramento, CA. Pours amber gold with a white head. Aroma is bready with an apple note. Arguably med body. Flavor is mildly dark malt with something like Saaz spice and still a apple/fruit touch. Not bad, but not exciting. Quite clean, not very bitter. Think the high ABV is helpful here.
