In 2014, Damm launched Daura Märzen, the first double malt gluten-free beer. It is a different, special beer; stronger, with more body and flavour than Daura gluten-free beer, but with the same guarantee of quality. Daura Märzen has an intense flavour and an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 7.2%, and, like Daura, its gluten content is less than 3 parts per million (ppm).

Tangy and strange. Hard to have a good gluten-free beer in a style based on malt. Golden pour. Tangy chemical finish. Bottle pour at whole foods.

Bottled (thanks to my parents). Hazy slightly golden colour, small white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some mild rubbery notes along with some alcohol and grains. Flavour is grains, mild rubber, some alcohol as well as sweet maltiness. Kind of Malt Liquorish elements in this one.

Bottle. Honey and barley wort aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Very sweet honey, worty barley malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Medium body. Weird - kind of tastes like a low alcohol beer but is listed as a 7.2%.

Bottle: Clear gold with a tall, off-white head. Caramel, sweet nut scent. Taste is toffee malt, cola.....a bit of nutty/chocolate malt. Very decent.....easily one of the better tasting and bodied GF beers out there. Fairly rich, even...not bad at all.

11.2 oz bottle purchased as a single at Cork and Barrel 23rd Street in Lawrence, Kansas. Best before end 05/16 on label. The pour is a clear golden copper with a well formed 2 inch egg white head. The head falls slow with nice lace. The aroma is honey malt along with a bit of herbal and an almost peppery earth. The taste is herbal clove, sweet grain and the honey character I associate with gluten free beers. As it warms, the pepper comes out some adding complexity. The palate is medium bodied with softer carbonation and a honey dry finish. Solid, great execution considering the gluten free challenge. It’s certainly the best gluten free beer I can remember having.
