Draught Huge, layered cream to tan head, fast retreating over pitch-black beer. Quite roasted nose, coffeemilk, roasted nuts and indeed lactose. Dry-ish roasted stout with a not-quite-sweet flavour - pastry as in patissier instead of marshmallow/doughnut America. Bit herbal flavour too, as in bay leaf, rosemary. Warming up, chocolate. Feels probably better bodied than it is; quite slick to viscous, creamy. Nice milkstout, featuring the best of milkstout, and good things from regular stout.

Can from Appellation Wines. Pours black with a thin beige head. Aromas of toffee and chocolate. Taste is more of the same. Light ashy note. Sweet finish.

Black beer, thick off white head. Smellmis malty with a little hop. Flavour has toasty malt, a little liquorice, some creaminess. Smoth, warming and very drinkable.
