Gravity cask at the 28th St Albans Beer Festival, 26/09/25.
Extremely dark mahogany brown topped with a lasting beige head.
Nose is roast malts, earthy, charr, dried red berries.
Taste comprises cocoa powder, dried fruit rinds, ashen nip, earthy roast, pine needle.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close spiked with earthy hop bitterness.
Tidy cask CDA.

Cask ale, half-pint after breakfast at Coronet (JDW). Remaining beige head, deep dark brownish body, laces fine. Promising moments of liquorice and ripe citrus on the nose. Well blended taste character with herbal hops, liquorice, caramel, and coffee. Nicely roasted bitterness to the ending. Medium bodied. Pleasing. (London, 07.12.2023).

Notater fra en aldeles hyggelig kveld på Våland med Phd-stipendiaten og trekkspilleren: Nydelige inntrykk av saftig citrus, mørke sjokolader og furunål. Fin bitterhet og tørr avslutning med laaang ettersmak. Maris Otter, Caramunich 2, hveteflak, havreflak, Cascade, Simcoe, Mosaic og Amarillo. Ikke rart det blir godt! Og utseendet var naturligvis upåklagelig. 0,33 flaske fra importkofferten.

Cask at Egham Beer Fest. Aroma combines caramel with a herbal edge. Darkest brown and murky. Form beige head. Medium-heavy bitter- resinous and herbs - with a peripheral caramel. Medium bodied. Creamy. Flat carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Interesting stuff. I like.
