Cask, half-pint at Southampton Arms. A low beige head resting over a near-black body, clingy lacing. Moderate smell of earthy chocolate and liquorice. Well blended taste of chocolate, nuts and liquorice with a backdrop of dark fruits. Easy to drink, but not diluted. Well made and well kept cask ale at the pub. (London, 05.12.2023).

Pigs Ear. Cask. Almost clear dark amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Nutty malts, a little floral cream. Nice ripe fruits, fairly bright. Mild ripe citric peel. Light and semi dry finish. Tasty mild.

Gravity cask at Pigs Ear 2023, day 1 - London. Pours clear light brown with a small, bubbly beige head. Light sweet flavour with notes of tobacco, earth, burnt toast, faint cocoa. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly drying finish, more earth, cocoa, burnt leaves. Not bad.
