Kloster beer saw the light in 1995, when Gotland Brewery opened. One can therefore conclude that it is the market's first färsköl with stand as trendsetters for other Swedish färsköl. The malt comes from both Sweden and Finland. The hops from Germany and the USA. The yeast from the Scottish Highlands and the unique water from Gotland. The result is a trend-setter!

Bottle. Aroma fruity, peach, overripe. Estery, spicy, clove. Suhary. Hazy orange colour, stable white head. Taste is balanced, rather neutral, nothing too special. Spicy, bitter, light metallic. Rather thin bodied. Average.

Anaranjada, un dedo de espuma. Algo turbia. Fuerte olor a malta cocida, incluso a distancia. Cambia todo en boca donde el tono general es lupulado, pomelo, naranja amarga, flor... amargo sin exagerar pero persistente hasta el postgusto... duradero. También algo de dulzor, pero eclipsado. Algo cansina, pero no está mal.

Aug ’14. A 0.33 l bottle from Systembolaget in Upplands Väsby. It poured hazy orange body with medium sized head. Lemon, coriander and cloves in aroma. Lightly bitter flavor, citrus hops, vanilla, coriander malts, a bit spicy and yeasty. Medium body, decent for 5%, with fine smooth vanilla sweetish finish. I don’t prefer so much hops in a Belgian style ale, if it was meant to be one anyway. Nothing extraordinay, although it’s still a fine little ale.

A cloudy, dark yellow beer with a blond and quite weak head. The nose has fruits, oranges, fructose, some spices. Taste has oranges, some sweet mandarin, citrusfruity sourness, medium bitterness, spices, some peppers in the end. Medium bodied, fresh. Strong oranges, quite nice and personal.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with stable off-white head. Clear aroma of hops, with notes of yeast and touches of malt. Bitter, rather intensely hoppy flavour, with estery notes and touches of citrus. Bitter and acidic finish. Clean. Medium body. OK but I expected something more fruity.
