Ingen julestemning her før volteffekten skal slå inn.

330ml bottle, lot. 219, bought at Vinmonopolet in Arendal. Pours an off-white head leaving clingy lacing on the glass, deep ruby-brown body. Promising aromas of plums and caramel malts. Caramel-fruity flavours, hints of dark berries, and some spices. Mid-sweet ending, kind of malt-berry-fruits. Fine bodied. Like it. (Hotel room, Arendal 26.11.2022).

Bottle, at Håndverkeren. It's a mostly clear, copper colored beer with a small beige head. The aroma has lots of caramel, dark bread and dark dried fruits, with some hints of alcohol, some grass, yeast and spiced hints. It's full bodied, soft and lightly warming on the palate, softly carbonated and with a good bitterness. Quite dryish, not particularly sweet. Bread, caramel, dark dried fruits and a spiced yeasty touch in the flavor. Some peppery and grassy notes show up towards the end. A bit yeasty this one, decent. 211203

Tap @ Patricks. Slightly unclear dark golden to amber body under a small, lacing tan head. Aroma has caramel malt, dry fruit and hint of spicy yeast. Taste is sweet malt, toffee, some fruit, hint of yeast and balanced, moderate bitterness. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. A nice and smooth beer in the crossing between a brown ale and Belgium dubbel. Nothing surprising going on here, but well made and very food friendly as a good Christmas beer may be.
