The Lager Paradox: Simplicity can be deceptively intricate. This classic Helles is the perfect nothing-box beer. We've brewed it not because the world is begging for it, but because our head brewer (Van) has been having fever dreams about this beer for years. Endless research on classic Bavarian malts and hops, countless calls with masters of German brewing, two tanks of demineralized water, our first decoction mash and a solid six weeks of lagering later, here it finally is: Only Van's. Because a Helles is the most naked you will ever see a brewer.

Can at home, courtesy of the Bax boys, thanks! Almost clear golden pour with a white head. Noble hops combine with pale, grainy malts, slightly more on the sweet side, although there’s certainly some bitterness for balance. Light bodied, could’ve been more crisp

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 20 July 2024) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with bread, grass, honey and herbal hops. Fruity taste with notes of bread, cereal, grass and a mild herbal bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and refreshing. Quite nice.

0,44 l can from Slijterij Wijnalda, Haren. BB 03/25. Clear pale golden in the glass, small one finger white head. Grassy grainy aroma, some bitter hop. Taste starts grainy, some caramel and malt, bitterhop in the background. Hints of citrus and apple. Little bit above average carbonated. Yes, it´s a Helles, nothing more, or less.
