Fra flaske (bb.080819) på RBHD, Bjørnøy mai-17: brunsvart nesten uten skum, vinøs oppskjenking. Vinøs aroma og smak også, med mørke malter, kaffe, sjokolade, vanilje og hentydninger til skotsk whisky. Myk, tørr, fyldig og med høyt vitamininnhold som ikke merkes i magen. A perfect nightcap.

Bottle, bottled 08.08.2016 (as Sakiškių Imperial Stout Barrel Aged, from Pothouse). Pours black with brownish head. The head stays for a moment. Aroma is massive alcohol, vodka, some bourbon, some roast. Flavor is sweet and bitter, peat, smoke, whisky, roast, dark chocolate, malt. Finish is roast and whisky. Overall: horrible aroma, almost pure strong alcohol, but flavor is a lot better. Still feels like beer and whisky mix. Sometimes I add a splash of whisky in my imperial stout and the result is usually a lot better than this... Pours dark, hazy and with little carbonation. Aroma is not very sweet, more bitter dark chocolate, coffee and wood. Taste is very well put together, originally hoppy imperial stout has taken in some whisky character from the barrel - and especially this woody oak ash character is quite pronounced. Still it is not too sweet, not too dry and not too hoppy, great balance.

Pitch black color. Big roasted malty nose with tons of peat and iodine, French oak in the nose. Very big. Low carbonation, very well integrated, peat, tons of dark chocolate, roasted malts, slightly sweet. So well integrated. Excellent

0,1l from tap at Craft Bier Fest Wien shared by Sebilinz, big thanks. black color, small coffee colored head. smells of peat, rubbery, leathery, light alcohol, also some hints of sweetness, nice but also rather heavy smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of peat, rubbery & leathery, some warming alcohol, also some sweetness, licorice, earthy notes. finishes with some alcohol and some sweetness and notes of peat, rubber and leather. good one overall but also rather heavy, rather on the peaty side (which I m usually not a fan off). overall drinkable though.

Black body, with a small, dense, coffee colored head.
Aroma of whiskey, coffee, cocoa, vanilla, some liquorice, some dark fruits, some peat, alcohol.
Taste follows this, with more dark chocolate and some caramel.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes roasty, dry, a bit wooden, with cocoa powder, whiskey, coffee.
Very nice. Strong and quite alcoholic, but not too heavy for the ABV. A bit too much whiskey notes maybe, while there is still room for the dark malts. Overall not an outstanding example of a barrel aged Imperial Stout, but really enjoyable nonetheless.

Bottle from Torben Matthews. Black with a lasting brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, wood, light peated and whisky. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish with warming alcohol. Oily. 101116
