Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. KEGS. Cask. Very slight haze on this gold beer, small bubbly off white head. Palate is light and smooth and fresh. Good fine carbonation. Very good condition. Light semi sweet floralness. The light sweetness also runs in to the grapefruit and orange marmalade. Whisper of spice. Light crisp finish with a citric peel bitter linger. What smoke?

Cask-conditioned at the Beer Emporium, Bristol 19/2/2014. Deep amber with a tight, off-white head. Plenty of tropical fruit, earthy, slightly spicy malts and a hint of roast before a dryish finish. A lot going on and enjoyable.

Cask handpull at Tap East Stratford. Amber. No smoke. Saison yeast aroma. Ipa flavour. Lots of grapefruit. Some spicy rye on the finish. Bizarre but quite nice. I asked them to check the line as I couldn’t detect the smoke but the website says a French yeast so there you go.
