A California-style IPA with a Belgian twist
Stone Cali-Belgique IPA features a complex and surprising combination of flavors, but behind the fancy title is the simply delicious Stone IPA. The addition of a carefully selected strain of Belgian yeast adds banana and spice notes to the hoppy brightness of our flagship IPA. Think of it as an otherwise identical twin to Stone IPA that was raised in a Belgian culture. Literally.
This beer was created in 2008 when we used Stone IPA as the propagation wort for fermenting our Stone 08.08.08 Vertical Epic Ale. We liked what the Belgian yeast flavors added to Stone IPA, so we kept brewing it and eventually released it as one of our year-round beers.

On tap at TCBW 2016. Clear golden with a white head. Fruity aroma with citrus, Belgian yeast, tropical fruits and hints of grass. Medium to moderate sweet and very fruity with a nice and bitter finish. Tasty Belgian IPA.

12oz bottle. A pretty optimum Belgo IPA, Filtered copper orange body. Foamy off-white head, steady. Estery, but also balanced and refined, like you might actually care to drink it. Quality brewing, quality product, Solid.

Clear copper-golden color with big white head. Aroma is grapefruits, some spicy freshness, some biscuitness. Taste is spicy yeasts, nearly like a Tripel, but not nearly as sweet. Hoppy throughout, bitter finish. Biscuity aftertaste. Good mix!

Draft @ beertemple. Aroma of sweet yeast, a bad omen. Tastes very sweet as well unfortunately, with lots of Belgian yeast ester, some grain and only faint hops More like a Belgian blonde. Bummer.

Tap at the Great Beer Bar, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Poured a clear light amber with a frothy white head and a few bubbles and lots of clingy lace. The aroma is Belgian yeast, light hop. The flavour is moderate to strong bitter with a dry crisp, bitter yeast hop palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A little one dimensional for me and a poor Belgian ale.
