The most famous type of beer from the Baltic States is Baltic Porter. Full-bodied, dark, intense, with a light aftertaste of roasted malt.
Originates from English porter, influenced by the strong and dark stouts of the Russian tsar’s court.
The traditional English brown town used in the recipe, a mixture of six different malts.

33cl bottle from Sip, Tallinn. Pours very dark brown with a somewhat modest, beige head. Malty aroma with roasty notes, mild chocolate and dark fruits, some caramel and hints of dark bread. Medium sweet with nice malty flavours and a fairly light bitterness. More balanced than expected and surprisingly tasty. Decent Baltic Porter in my book.
