On tap at Habitat. An unclear black beer with a minimalistic light tan head. The aroma is sweet and roasted, with caramel sauce and some brown sugar. The alcohol is well hidden. It's full-bodied and lightly warming, sweet and smooth, with just hints of bitterness. Too sweet on the palate for my liking, but the flavor is still fine. Roasted malts, caramel sauce, some alcohol and a dash of coffee and dark chocolate. Lasting sweet finish. Not bad at all this one, but a small glass was enough. 240801

Panda thanks to Cloin. Near opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Smooth and slightly viscous palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Rich dark malts, a rich creamy dark chocolate and slightly tangy soft espresso. The Marsala barrel provides the requisite honeyish ripe citrus. A little alcohol spice. A pleasingly boozy alcoholic ripe fruity finish goes well with the dark malts. Tremendous fun.

Süßer Beginn, das Ahornsirup ist hier klar erkennbar. Pistazien im Hintergrund, dafür aber konstant. Der Kaffee ist weniger stark vorhanden und bleibt auch im Verlauf unauffällig. Süß-alkoholisch bleibend, langer Nachhall. 12/10/9/8/11/8
